Christmas Party! Dec 13th
Bring your dancing shoes because DJ Ray will be in the house! We are having our annual Christmas party but this year the theme will be a little bit disco. DJ Ray will be playing a variety of music including 70-80’s! Along with ballroom, rock n roll and salsa.
Indeed there will be prizes, awards , Santa, fun dancing games and the unveiling of the new Backbeat Routine, Give it 2 Me.
WHERE: Maroochydore Community Centre (next to RSL)

| Community Activities |
Backbeat are always delighted to be involved in community events. During October we were involved with the Fusion Festival which is run by the Discovery Program. The Fusion Festival aim was to engage people into their community to stimulate health and wellbeing. Dancing is a wonderful way for people to become engaged into society, by meeting new people, boosting confidence, self esteem and it’s active, so you get fit while having fun!
In addition to the Fusion Festival, Backbeat also supported the Lions Club fundraiser for Emergency Accommodation in November.
All of our dancers can get involved with the community activities we are associated with, so make sure you come on down and check out the next one.
We really did have a load of fun at the Fusion Festival and meet many people, check out tho photos.

Add a bit of bling and style to your dancing and get into class November 23rd and 29th to grab yourself a dance shoe bargain! Doreen is having her end of year sale and is keen to get rid of her stock for the new year. You won’t be disappointed she has every size, shape and colour you can imagine. |

Keep your steps small:
- if your steps are too large it is easy to get out of time with your dance partner
- stepping back too far can lose essential arm tension and hand contact
- small steps gives you more opportunity for styling, eye contact, attitude and smiling :)
- They enable you to hold your partner closer and move with confidence and balance

There was heaps of fun on the cruise and lots of wonderful memories. There were dancers from all over Australia and no shortage of the Sunshine Coasters either! Ray and Helen surprised everyone with a beautiful routine that was taught in the classes and then performed on the main stage. There were surprise add on’s where also enjoyed such as a cocktail party, dance party on the back deck and free wine as a thank you.
Some favourite bits include: the endless cocktails, lazing on the deck, dancing until late, fantastic shows, fabulous food galore and the bed turned down nightly. AHHH wonderful J
There has been wonderful feedback and everyone had a fantastic time, I know we are looking forward to next year!
