| Dance Tip |
How to make your dancing look graceful is a matter of removing the obvious step from your dance style and turning it into a glide. Keep your feet close to the ground and rather than step slide your feet along the dance floor for each move you make. To do this you need to ensure you and your partner have good tension between you as you are then reliant on the push and pull action from the male partner. To start forming the habit and begin to practice the slide with the basic footwork that is taught in class, or in the privacy of your own home.
In addition to this, ladies you need to keep you the balls of your feet. This will ensure you can respond quickly to any lead the male gives.
There are many more tips to being graceful on the dance floor, however, getting your footwork initially is a good start.
