Welcome to the Backbeat November Newsletter – keeping you in the dance loop.

Mardi Gras – Carnival

November has only just begun and we’ve started this month with a bang!  Mardi Gras - Carnival was a huge success, those who didn’t make it missed out on a great night with performances from Backbeat and a brilliant routine by Alan & Holly, from Le Step on the Gold Coast.  The night also included special numbers from Ted and Owen who sang us some fantastic songs, you guys are talented. The costumes and bright colours lit up the dance floor and people danced ‘til their toes fell off. It was a great night and we’ll keep you posted for the next party. Congratulations to Leone and Eleanor for a top night!

Ross’s dance Tips

Keep your steps small:

  • if your steps are too large it is easy to get out of time with your dance partner
  • stepping back too far can lose essential arm tension and hand contact
  • small steps gives you more opportunity for styling, eye contact, attitude and smiling :)
  • They enable you to hold your partner closer and move with confidence and balance

The steps maybe small but the improvement in your dancing will be huge.

Thanks Ross, stay tuned for Maggie’s dance tips in our next newsletter!
