October Newsletter 2007

So much is happening right now, Modern jive is bursting at the seams!  So have a read and a laugh as there is lots happening over the next month.

BYO Friend month!

That’s it! October is ‘Bring Your Own Friend’ month at our Sunshine Coast classes.

We know you guys love Modern Jive and are telling your friends about our classes and that is awesome.  So here is an incentive to get them in the door.  Backbeat are running a promotion where you invite a friend and they will get their first lesson free.  So bring a good friend or a distant relative and help build the fun at Backbeat.  Note: this offer is valid for first timers only and not valid with any other offer.

Suzie’s Dance Tip

  • Ladies the secret to following well is to keep your hands low, around the waist level.  If you’re not sure what’s happening keep your hand available after styling, that way the man can easily grab and lead into the next exciting move.

  • Relax in your spinning, it will come much easier if you don’t try to hard.

Sweet Escape Routine

The guys have been diligently learning, practicing, gasping and going beyond boundaries they never thought possible and they are going great guns!  They are three weeks into the Sweet Escape Routine and only one week of learning to go, then its practice, refinement and getting ready for the first big performance on Friday 2nd November.

Their first performance will be at Leonie and Ellie’s Carnival – Mardi Gras.  So come in your bright colours and frills, its going to be an awesome night of dancing and there will be a few demonstrations.  So make sure you come have fun and support your friends performing out there.

Ceroc Cruise

Hey did you guys see the glow on Jaz’s and Kimmy’s face when they came back?  We did.  They have just come back from the Ceroc Cruise of the South Pacific.  One week of dancing, eating and fun.  Make sure you check out their photos coz they got a few good stories to tell.
