What is Modern Jive

Modern Jive is a saucy blend of Latin, Salsa and a two-step jive that will have you dancing in no time.  Modern Jive originated in France in WWII when the American GI’s showed their jitterbug and Swing moves to the French. The French loved it so much it survived the war and the solo dance craze during the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.

Some other names you may hear Modern Jive described as are as follows: Ceroc, C-Roc, Sir-Rock, Le-Step, Dirty Latin Jive, French Latin, Le Roc, Le Groove, Latino Rock, Jive Works, Le Jive, Dance Roc, Mambo Rock and Modern Rock.   These names are normally the company names of various dance studios in Australia who are teaching the form of dance, which is "Modern Jive".
